The AWSC Convention is in Appleton, March 12, 13 and 14, 2010. Doug Johnson from Polk County is running for President. Sue Smedegard from Cozy Corner Trails and Burnett County Treasurer is running for Secretary. See page 12 & 13 in the February Wisconsin Snowmobile News for all candidate profiles. Polk and Burnett County have a hospitality room at the Convention.
Polk and Burnett County are co-hosting the July 2011 Director's Meeting. This is the same weekend as the Grantsburg Water Cross.
The AWSC, as of January 1st has 25,864 members. Remember, there is power in numbers. We as a Club, are at 95 members as of February 1, 2010.
AWSC, state issues, (www.awsc.org) SB406 (CAP/STEP) and AB598 bills are moving along. We should have more information after Convention. We voted not to participate as an organization in the Deer Hunting issues. We also have bill AB599 to continue 55 night time speed limit.
There may be another AWSC Day in Madison. We are looking for a date when our attendance is most beneficial.
It was decided at our January Club meeting to have our Member Appreciation Dinner Saturday, March 20th at Madden's Steak House. Details enclosed (in the letter). This will replace our March Club Meeting. Due to the number of "No-Shows" at our last dinner, we are imposing a $10.00 per person deposit for the dinner. The $10.00 per person will be refunded when you collect your dinner tickets the night of the banquet.
We will see you at the Pour House, February 20th, 3:00 PM.
Divided We Fail, United We Trail.
